How to terminate ASTRO services?

Kitorang decided to terminate Astro ni since bulan 9 last year. AKu call Customer Care Unit  sekali tanya camne prosedur, katanya kene setlekan semua bil then baru call semua utk terminate. Lepas tu aku dh byr bil, aku call semula. Operator tu cakap Astro nak ofer aku free astro 2 bulan,lepas tu aku boleh decide nak sambung or terminate. Kiranya macam waktu utk aku fikir balik la decision utk terminate. So I said yes, coz katanya x payah bayar 2 bulan. So I m ok with that. Lagipun ala san nape aku tak nak subscribe Astro lagi is because aku dah tak nak menyumbang pada J. No McD, no Nestle. So 2 bulan tak payah bayar kira no problem pd aku.. so that was in December 2014.
Then,  2 weeks ago tiba2 sampai bil, aku kne bayar 2 bulan tuh pulak. Memang kaf lam ya nga Astro ni, kejap ckp camni kejap cakap camni. Lepas tu aku dapat call, Astro tanya bila aku nak bayar bil 2 bulan tuh. Aku refused to pay sebab operator dulu tu kata free. Then dia cakap kene bayar jugak. And then kalo dah bayar nak terminate, aku kene hantar decoder and piring tu ke Astro kalo tak kene bayar denda RM500. So aku cakap tengok la dulu aku nak bayar ke tak. Hangin jugak la kan.

So lepas aku google info, aku jumpa Astro subscriber terms and conditions.

8. Suspension and Termination.
Astro shall have the right, in its sole discretion and without notice, to suspend or terminate the Customer’s access to the Services if the Customer breaches any of the representations and warranties referred to above or any other term of the Agreement or use the Reception Equipment in a manner not permitted by the Agreement or determined inappropriate by Astro. Subject to clause 4, the Customer may suspend or terminate the Services by giving a minimum of one (1) month’s written notice. If the Services are suspended or terminated either by the Customer or by Astro, the Customer shall remain liable to pay the full Subscription Fee for the entire billing month in which the suspension or termination occurred, all amounts due from the Customer prior to such suspension or termination and the agreed fee of RM500.00 on a prorated basis in the event the suspension or termination is within the twenty four (24) months minimum subscription period as provided in clause 4. If the Customer is a B.yond PVR customer, and does not wish to use the recording functionality, the Customer shall provide Astro with a minimum one (1) month prior written notice and Astro shall arrange for the collection of the Astro B.yond PVR and its Accessories and provide the Customer with an Astro B.yond Box. If the Customer fails to inform Astro, the Customer shall continue to pay Astro for the monthly recording service fee up to the date of the collection of the Astro B.yond PVR. Any existing recordings that the Customer has made in the Customer’s Astro B.yond PVR shall not be retrievable or transferable to another device. If later the Customer chooses to exchange and upgrade again to the Astro B.yond PVR, a prescribed retrieval and/or installation and set up charges will be payable by the Customer to the authorized Astro installer. If at any point in time the Customer’s subscription to the Astro Service is terminated either by the Customer or Astro for any reason whatsoever, the Customer shall contact Astro within 30 days from the termination date of the Astro Service to arrange for the collection of the Astro B.yond Box/PVR and its Accessories by Astro at no cost to the Customer. If the Customer does not contact Astro for the collection of the Astro B.yond Box/PVR and its Accessories within the aforesaid time period, all charges incurred by Astro to enforce the retrieval of the Astro B.yond Box/PVR and its Accessories shall be borne by the Customer and charged to the Customer’s Astro account. Any existing recordings that the Customer may have made in his Astro B.yond PVR/EHDD shall not be retrievable or transferable to another device. For reactivation of the Services, the Customer will be charged an administrative fee of RM 20.00. All due amounts must be paid before the Services can be reactivated. Notwithstanding the above, Astro may in its sole discretion and without any liability to the Customer suspend or terminate the Customer’s access to the Services at any time for any reason whatsoever including, but not limited to, circumstances in which Astro has been informed or is aware that the Customer has used the Reception Equipment in a manner such that there is an offence and/or infringement committed under provisions of the Copyright Act 1987 (as amended from time to time). If the Customer has not breached the Agreement and Astro suspends or terminates the Customer’s access to the Services, the Customer will be responsible only for payment of Subscription Fees up to the date of such suspension or termination and any amounts due prior to such date.


 So based on yang aku baca nih, sebenarnya tak payah pulangkan semua benda2 tuh sendiri. Orang Astro sendiri yang kene datang amik those accessories. SO this morning aku hantar email ke wecare@astro.com.my bagi notis utk terminate. Kalo banyak cekadak lagi aku bagi dia clause dlm T&C tuh.
Kesimpulannya, bila call Astro customer service memang kalo boleh diorang nak kita delay sb kita stil kene bayar bil. So kene hantar written notis and kene tau T&C yang kita dah sign masa subscribe Astro. Agaknya Astro sekarang dah start duussshh sebabnya 5 Feb baru ni diorang bentikan about 60 staffs. But that's not my concern.

aku pun terminate astro sbb nak minimize kan contribution kpd yahudi... Google dan FB tu free... tak payah bayar. Bongoks btol la anon atas tu... ada jugak yahudi bongoks ya...???

samalaa. saya pun nak terminate juga. syukur ya Robb jumpa blog Umi. Umi, nak tanya.. so apa steps yang perlu saya ambil sekiranya saya hendak terminate ni ya? boleh beri steps dia? Sebelum ni saya pernah hendak terminate saya telah berpindah dari Muar ke Putrajaya. Dulu dekat Muar kena ada astro sebab coverage teruk. sekarang putrajaya dah tak perlu dah. lepastu mereka kata kena cukup 2 tahun. so saya tunggu. Julai haritu cukup 2 tahun. sekarang tengah hendak buat termination process.

mohon sangat sangat sangat Umi share steps dia. hanya Allah yang dapat balas segala kebaikan Umi :D

Saya pun baru nak terminate astro... dah call
1. kena settle semua bil tertunggak, guna apa le cara cth maybank2u. Lps 3 jam call balik astro 9543 3838 utk maklumkan nak tamatkan
2. dari tarikh maklumkan/notis nak tamatkan ( cth 28 Ogos, esok baru di kira) ambil masa 30 hari ( x efisyen langsung ) utk ditamatkan ( 29 sept) - bil tu nanti kena bayar le juga
3. Lepas 30 hari di tamatkan (29 sept) kena pulang remote, decoder, smart card pada astro -klu astro collect kena BAYAR (customer service ckp, sy dah argue tgk dlm T&C xde...bla3x)
4. Klu di KL pulang kat cheras atau mid valley, bole guna surat wakil org lain htr
5. Klu x nak call guna email@fax pun rasanye boleh juga TETAPI PASTIKAN KENA FOLLOW UP takut xde rekod penamatan akaun. Sy dah byk pengalaman dgn telco, ISP dll pastikan simpan hard copy dll ' mereka mcm " Gengster Kg Dusun" ....hahaha

sy ikut semua step (1-2). smlm (30/9) sy call customer service sbb nak tanya bil terakhir dan nak byr secepat mungkin sbb bil terakhir x sampai2 lagi. tujuannya supaya sy nak pulangkan remote, decoder, smart card pada astro di Cheras. Tetapi customer service tu ckp x perlu dipulangkan dan x kan denda RM500. Terperanjat saya entah ya entah tidak, berkali2 sy confirmkan dan berkali2 dia kata x perlu pulangkan. masa sy nak terminate (28/8) berkali2 ingatkan sy kn pulangkan brg2 astro. dia ckp pd 8/10 cuba hubungi semula astro untuk pengesahan bil.

em...cuma sy rasa sapa y nak terminate kn kuatkan ati sbb byk alasan mereka akan beri utk kita terus langgan. smlm sy call pun still tanya knp sy terminate. knp perlu tanya dan knp lengahkan penghantran bil, sabar ajela. smlm klu bole, mrk suruh sy byr full payment dan terus langgan seperti biasa. kebiasanya bil astrole paling awal sampai kat rumah sy. tp sampai kesudah x pos2.

assalamualaikum wbt,

saya baru saja call astro cust service untuk terminate astro. jadi macam komen sebelum ni, tak perlu pulangkan decoder, remote dan smart card. alasan mereka, in case in th future kita nak sambung semula, mereka akan terus integrate dengan previous account yang kita pernah buat.

Astro ni ms suruh melanggan punyala manis mulut dia..ms nk terminate mcm2 hal Astro buat..
nk tny cemane nk terminate dkt pusat servis dia pon dia xtau..
last2 call customer service baru la dia bgtau cemane nk terminate..
step yg sy gune ialah:
1. call customer service n fail a report ckp nk terminate. (16/10/2015)
2. g bayar segala mak nenek bil n tunggakan bil. pastu call blk cus service n notify semula yg kte da buat bayaran semua.(16/10/2015)
3. cus service akan bg tempoh sebulan utk prosessing dia for termination. pastu bil bulan tu still kne bayar (sebulan terakhir-15/10/15). pastu baru dia terminate. kate dia byr bill amount mcm biasa.
4. tup-tup pd 24/11/15 dtg la bil dia..skali kne byr spi RM309.05 (lebih double dr harga bil sebenar). kegilaan apekah ini? siap ken byr adjustment fees la pulak..
5. jap lg nk call blk cus service blk utk tny kegilaan apekah ini..

ms nk melanggan sume wangi..tme nk terminate gini taik dia bgk..
